I know you are a busy man Saint but I have been away for quite awhile and I just found this
Updated! Arcade solutions takes orders in an on again off again basis - email them to see their current status. Updated!
This site offers an incredible variety of custom designed arcade control consoles. The founder is also a regular contributor to the message board and a great guy. A brief summary of the custom-built arcade joysticks: .....
For those of you who dont know me (which is probably most of you now) I used to own that site and participate in the forums quite a bit but I havent built anything arcade related for about 8 years....although it appears I am back in bussiness ;D even though I didn't know about it.
Anywho, the reason I am here now is that I am going to build again but I need some info to catch up on the times. For example, I don't want to build a spinner from scratch like I used to especially when I know there are some pretty nice ones out there now. However when I search around the first spinner link is always Oscar who is not in business anymore.
Is there a 'current' FAQ available at this time? Basically I need to find the best spinners, trackballs (I used to use Happs), enocder (I used to use Hagstrom), and the other various controls....but I don't want to have to stumble through all of the dead vendors.
Thanks for any help.

The wiki (http://wiki.arcadecontrols.com/wiki/Main_Page) is a good place to start as most info is current.
Hardware Reviews (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/board,26.0.html) may also be of interest.
Welcome back, Andy (although I wasn't here back then).
Cheers.

maybe apache for spinners though the shipping is brutual.

SlikStick spinners are pretty nice, too, as long as you won't miss the push/pull feature of the Apaches.
Trackball-Happ are still good, Electric ICE-T are nice if you want a lighted solution.

Also good spinners at groovygamegear.com, along with some of the best and cheapest encoders.
Best prices on Happ product can be had through the buy/sell/trade forum, members Ponyboy and Divemaster have stickied threads there for Happ and some other products at substantially reduced rates.
