Title: Hanatrex mtc 9000 dead or not?
Post by: kdjac on August 21, 2006, 11:12:04 am
Lo

I have a sort of wkring arcade cabinet with a hantrex mtc 9000 in it, when i turn on the cab i hear speakers the monitor flashes in all corners (white flash only in corners) then sound kicks in as game is loaded but no video.

Once i seen a rom loading screen but since then all i get is flashes.

Is this a common symptom of a dead monitor? I am reluctant to poke about in it and owuld prefer to get a mate who is an electronics guy to have a look at it, as it looks fairly basic is there a checklist of things he can check or clean before diagnosing a dead monitor?

thanks

Does your game play "blind" too? If so then the monitor is the problem. Hantarex are well known for needing capkits due to the great number of failed capacitors.

I have yet to try the dipswitches for free play on the game so i only hear it running.

Will have to find out which dipswitch is for free play before i can find that out.

thanks for reply.

Can you manually coin it up with the coin switches?

Ok ... open the coin door and flick the switches.
You don't need to actually drop a coin through the slot.
(unless you don't have a key and need to get it open first)
