I was watching Adult Swim last night, and they had this new cartoon about some heavy metal band.
It was probably meant as some sort of joke, but they had this guy playing a stand up arcade machine with wheelchair controls playing a handicapped player in the game.
There was two wheels, only the top half sticking out of the control panel. About the size of regular steering wheel controls, but turned up and down. You spun them similar as you would spin wheelchair wheels.
I could probably draw a picture of it, if what I am saying does not make sense.
But anyways, its probably not politically correct for a game, but I thought it would make an interesting project for someone.

interesting idea, but what game would you play on it? i am not aware of any games that use dual spinner controls to emulate a wheelchair.
-
battlezone might work with wheelchair controls

HEY, you know what, that COULD make for a cool game. See, turning is a little tricky, since you have to spin one wheel slower than the other. This could make for very interesting gameplay (that I have not seen done before).
It wouldn't even have to be a wheelchair analogy though. Just to avoid offending anyone.
Hmmm... now where would one sell such a game? I guess Ultracade / Global VR is the only game in town now.....

I usually see things through the eyes of a programmer, being a game designer. I was thinking of creating a game for it.
I wasn't thinking of actually doing it, just thinking of it. Since I know its probably offensive somehow.

Nothing like offending someone to promote a game. Think way back to Death Race as a prime example.

You might actually manage to get endorsement from the handicapped community if you emulate the chair experience properly and make the player in the game some kick-ass hero who happens to be in a chair. People can be fickle about what pisses them off and what makes them cheer...

You won't anger these guys...
