I just got a VF machine at an auction yesterday. I noticed that the RGB cables were not attached to the monitor and the sound power was not attached. So, when I got home I plugged i the sound and the machine immediatly came up. I had attract sound. I opened up the coin door and got it to coin up. I pressed the player 1 and started pressing buttons and even though I could not see it, I was fighting. :D Obviously with no RGB cables attached there is still no monitor. My question is this. I have a clear idea of what RG&B is as there is a RGB wires, I have no idea of what is ground or sync as the following two wires are a blue and a white. Whatdoyathink? Ghaw If I can get this to work, this will be sweet. It was sold as totally not working and got it for $10.

Cool thanks.
This plug looks like it connected to something to connect to the monitor. What is the connection type for the monitors?
It looks 8 pins with 1 pin missing. (not sure of exact number) but there are 3, space, then like 4 or 5 pins. I am guessing that the 3 are RGB then the others are +, - sync and ground.. I will look up the monitor tomorrow. Looking for the connector type though so I can pick one up.

sounds like you have a wells gardner monitor, best to find the model number and then look for the rgb pinout(we did not use alot of wg monitors in the u.k,but i remember some had an 8 pin plug consisting of rgb, com, sync and then some wire links),ken will certainly be able to help more-i don't think its a difficult job,i think the connector was just a standard push on type

If it's the monitor that was originally in the VF, it is a Nanao MS8-26SU. It's a nice dual sync, I have repaired a couple they are pretty unique. I think RetroJames has some manuals and schematics somewhere, as I remember they are real hard to find. Also, I have a Virtua Fighter cab manual somewhere that will give you a wiring schematic of the cab. I will try to find it.
