Hi I'm in the process of making a mame cabinet and I had a question about the control panel.
I was wondering If anyone had any ideas on where I can buy a control panel mame kit?
I'm going to use the existing control panel on the cab. and drill out any other holes I would need for extra buttons so i don't want one of those pre-drilled frame kits
Its a single player cab. and I'm going to keep it a single player cab
but I would like to replace all the existing buttons and the joy stick but I'm not looking to put a lot of buttons on it either maybe 6 or 7 buttons plus a 8-way joy stick
so pretty much I was wondering what the best cp kit would be for this project and where to get it
are there any that come with the the joy stick and buttons plus the wiring, adapt and circuit board? or would I just have to buy the buttons and joystick somewhere else (not to big of a deal if I have to)
any and all help will be greatly appreciated thanks =)

Take a look at ponyboy and divermasters threads in the B/S/T forum, you can buy whatever you need from them. Other then that, the search button is your friend ;D

Whatever you do, don't build a cabinet and then put a pre-built commercial panel on it. Nothing looks worse than a cabinet that should be your own uglified with something that everyone knows you didn't build. If this is an existing cabinet that you are just maming, it'll look doubly worse.
Building the control panel is perhaps the easiest thing to do. If you can drill a couple of holes, you can build the control panel. The arcade encoders such as the IPAC and Keywiz are super easy to use.
I suggest you have fun with your little adventure and do some searching on this site for the topics you want such as wiring an ipac, building a control panel, templates......etcetera. This site is a wealth of information that we couldn't possibly dictate for you.
