Title: WTB: Basic Box for MAME
Post by: Roughy on August 18, 2006, 02:12:49 pm
Sorry if I'm throwing this out in the wrong forum.  The last time I set-up a MAME box, I bought an "okay" system from TigerDirect--barebones, no hard drive, no OS, etc. for a couple hundred bucks.

I'd like to keep that same budget, but if anyone has any suggestions, or even decent deal (ie Best Buy just had an eMachines deal I totally missed out on with OS, RAM, etc.)--I'm totally cool on close-outs, refurbs, etc.  Just want to keep it low-dollar, as everyone can already imagine.

Thanks!

I know newegg has AMD 754 3400+ and a free mobo of choice for 99 bucks, i have one and works great .  it runs at 2.4Ghz and can be overclocked to 2.7 with no issues what so ever.
