Title: HAPP Controls Shipping?
Post by: rdowdy95 on August 15, 2006, 05:32:51 pm
Hey guys I am getting close to ordering the buttons and joysticks and stuff.  How much does Happ charge for shipping.  I can't remember what they charge?  I looked at the Ponyboy website and it said coming soon.  Hey Ponyboy if you read this how do I order from you.

Thanks,

rdowdy95

hey man! Wheres the pictures?

You need to send a personal message to Ponyboy. I've bought from Divemaster and he's been very responsive.

Hey Ponyboy if you read this how do I order from you.

PonyBoy (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=36770.0)

DiveMaster (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=47066.0)

Don't order direct from Happ.

Cheers.

EDIT: post crossed with DM's post.

If you order directly from Happ, then you'll be charged a fortune for shipping.  Definately order from ponyboy or divemaster.  You can get ahold of ponyboy either by sending him a pm or an email: sales@rollieelectronics.com

Thanks guys I am getting some cash together, and will be PMing one or the other with my order.

Thanks

PS Pics will be coming soon to my thread.  I am actually just going to try to do my control panel first so I can play on it some.

LOL! I just don't know what to do.  Man it is going to be expensive.  I need to get bunch of stuff.

I've had great transactions with both Divemaster and Ponyboy. Very reputable, fair pricing, and MUCH better shipping rates. I would definately have no aprehension about buying from either of them in the future.

i don't know what you are talking about being expensive.  you just whip out the plastic, charge charge charge, and then take a look at the bill at the end of the month.   :dizzy:  but yeah, you can't put a price on the fond memories like leapinlew said.  oh yes, he did go there.  hahaha

I bet ponyboy can.   But you should just PM either one of them and find out.

To be fair, if you are close to Happ's location, you can just go pick your order up from the warehouse (realize this usually isn't the case though).

dude, that sounds like a fun road trip to me.  a lil 6 hour drive to las vegas from where i live.  500 miles @ $3.49/gallon for gas here in cali.  hmm...i think that would still be cheaper than shipping from happs.

i don't mean to knock happs, its just that when i dealt with them in the past, they didn't care too much for me spending small money, thus i think that's why i had poor service.

Lets be realistic... This is not a hobby for people with weak wallets...  If you want a cheap hobby collect used stamps or better yet back covers from toilets in public restrooms.  I'm sure if you put a vinyl coating on those toilet backs you can increase your profit by 100 percent and since these can be found in abundance locally shipping is free.    :laugh2:

Comsumers have been spoiled by free shipping from the major on-line retailers.

When I compaired the amount I was charged to what I would have been charged if I shipped the same package*, it was within a few percents, plus or minus.

And don't ship UPS ground if you buy something big; they charge as if you shippedminimum 30, 70, or 90 lbs after certain sizes.  (DHL & FedEx ground also have a size cost, but are more graded.)  And don't ship air at all with big packages.

The only 'legit' complaints I've heard here were with shipping bezels or other large stuff & not listing a shipping price when you order, and bad service.  PonyBoy and DiveMaster are great, cheaper, and they are more up front about costs, true, and I'd buy from them.  But 95% of the happs shipping complaints are due to what UPS charges, not happs.

*Same in size and weight, which means doing into the "detailed time and cost" on the web page, not just the "quick time & cost".  And put in the correct size, as one inch can be the difference between normal and way too high shiping costs (http://www.ups.com/content/us/en/resources/prepare/oversize.html).

edit: added link to UPS's "oversize page"
