Title: Custom Resolutions file for Powerstrip?
Post by: MartyNg on August 14, 2006, 10:14:13 pm
I have a Wells Gardner monitor bring driven by a GeForce 2. Do any of you guys have a custom resolution file with lots of resolutions in it? The ones in the "Powerstrip Writeup" thread are minimal. Thank you!

No, but I am keen to make one in the future.

The main issue is that you would probably need slightly different ones for different monitors (in terms of tweaking/positioning) I think...

The wiki has some info on creating resolutions, but these were taken from that thread. I know it has a list of resolutions similar to the ones the AVGA uses, except with doubled horizontal frequency (to increase the pixel clock to make it more likely to be doable on a standard graphics card.)

It was only recently that powerstrip had its pixel-clock floor lowered as they used to assume that no standard graphics card could go down below 5Mhz pixel clock. I think the floor is now 2 or 3Mhz, as I know at least some ATI cards can get down that far. I suspect that the very low resolutions (240x200) may be too low, but 320x200 should be doable.
