Has anyone got an .ini file for running U64emu on MAMEWAH?
There is very little advice on this emulator and unfortunately the one guy who's site really opened things up for me (jcrouse) doesn't have an .ini file available for this emulator.
As I understand, I have to use a wrapper (I have downloaded 2 different versions from Lazarus) but I am unsure how to use them. Do I have to rename any files to match my u64emu.exe file? Will it work with the better U64emu 3.11 Platinum Edition emulator or do I have to use the 3.05 version?
I'd be eternally thankful if someone can give post a copy of their .ini file in this thread, and list the contents of their U64emu folder so I can set mine up exactly the same.
Even if you only have the 3.05 version, I can always try it with version 3.11 and see if it works, plumping for 3.05 if it doesn't.....
I know I should post this in the MAMEWAH forums, but I can't find a thing on it in there! Someone here must be able to help, I've tried everywhere else!
It'll only take a minute.....! :notworthy: :notworthy:

u64 is kind of a broken emulator. You need to just use mame for these games.

It's far from perfect I know, and has a couple of fatal errors that terminate the program under certain conditions, but the MAME code is WAY behind for the system I am using. The U64 gives better results even with it's limited options on lower end systems.
My system is an AMD 2000+ which only clocks at 1.25Ghz (Should be clocking way higher but crap motherboard bios restricts it). I tried KI1 (not arsed about KI2) under MAME and it is ridiculously unplayable, yet U64 emulates it perfectly and runs up to 80fps with no problem!
It's not like it's so poor it can't be done. Hundreds of people use it and loads of people mention using it with MAMEWAH. I can't believe no-one reading this has got it!

rcp did an awesome job with U64Emu. MAME is too stickler about being 'perfect' about everything. The point of enjoying the game is playing it, not making sure that every line of code is honored in the hallowed halls of arcade-dom.
I'd prefer to use it because MAME doesn't even work very well with KI2 on my system. It keeps crashing soon after you choose your characters.

This isn't true. Even he will admit that the timing is off on the games before he finally called it quits and the mame driver started. That means that the game plays differently, not that hacks were used a stuff. People that aren't ki fans won't notice, but anyone who has played it a lot in the arcades will.
punjabbe my guess is you are using an old version of mame. You need to use as new as possible for ki2 as the driver initially had problems.
Also sam you need to check your settings. There might be a little brameskipping involved, but that system has more than enough hp to run ki and ki2. Remember that in earlier revisions of teh drivers in mame those games were slower and they actually increased in speed as time progressed.
The only way to run u64emu in a fe is with my wrapper, but it's super old and no longer supported. You can't use a simple ini for a emu that doesn't have command-line options. ;)

I'm using MAME 0.107.
