Title: Looking for specific 4pin connector - help me identify?
Post by: Sizzler on August 11, 2006, 06:36:32 pm
I made a post in the buying and selling forum looking for a cable extension that DIrectron used to sell, but I realized that that one is actually a male to male cable and I need an extension with male on one end and female on the other.

In any case, I don't know if anybody makes these cables so I thought I'd just make my own, but I don't know the name of the connector that I'm looking for so I haven't had much luck with searches.

I called it a CD rom cable in my other post, but there are a couple different kinds of cd rom cables.  Here are some pictures of the female end.  Does anybody know where I could find find the male connector?

Here's my other post (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=56700.0)

That's the PC standard "Mitsumi" CD-ROM audio cable connector from the looks of it.  The connector is so-called because Mitsumi used it on their drives back in the early days of CD-ROM drives.  It seems to have fallen out of favor, and people are now using standard 0.1" stuff.

The one from my original Mitsumi 1x drive is a JST PH series.  You need the 4 pin housing PHR-4 and 4 contacts model SPH-002T-P0.5S (there are others that may work).  Digi-key stocks these as P/N 455-1164-ND for the housing and 455-1127-1-ND for the contacts.

Hope this helps.
