Title: can someone help w/my Ms Pac Man issues?
Post by: vintagegamer on August 07, 2006, 02:26:19 pm
Hi all,

This is my first post here, and I'm hoping someone can help me out-  On Memorial Day weekend, I brought home a Ms Pac Man machine that played perfectly.  Everything worked fine.  I played it almost daily up until Wed 7/26-  That day, it was running fine, and I went to run a few errands.  When I came home, everything was lit up but the screen.  It still makes the sounds, so I thought maybe it was the monitor.  I have an extra monitor so I swapped it out, but the same issue continued.  I also had an extra one of the parts that is between the monitor and the main board (think it's called the chassis?), but that did not fix the issue either.

The transformer in the unit has 7 fuses, and I have checked all of them with a multimeter, to find that all of them are OK.  Is this still something transformer related, or can anyone provide any other suggestions?  I'm really bummed and want my Ms Pac back.   :(

Thanks in advance,

The fuseholders in the bottom of the cabinet are known to go bad (the metal clips develop hairline cracks).

Thanks for the replies guys-  If it is in fact the fuseholders, can I buy replacements for them?  Also, I'd be glad to try checking the input AC voltage to the monitor if someone can tell me how to do it without me blowing myself up  :D

Thanks,
