The more I tweak Mamewah, the more I LOVE it!
Once I got over the learning curve, it's great and the WIKI has helped tremendously!
I now have it running 6 Emus and I have custom layouts for each one and multiple games lists as well.
question #1
I have the screensaver running and the screenshots are very cool, but they don't fit the screen. I have MAMEWAH setup as 800x600 and the screenshots (snaps) are 222x167 .png files. When they display, most of the edges are cutoff or they are not centered. Is there a way to fit them to the screen or do I need to resize all of them to 800x600? (I have thousands! and hope there is another option).
#2
I have loaded some sounds to the layout file and they work for Intro, Navigation, Exit, but I wasn't able to get them to work when launching a specific emu. I'd like a PacMan sound for MAME, a Mario sound for SNES, SEGA! for Sega, etc. I have named them MAME-gamelaunch.wav. SNES-gamelaunch.wav, and SEGA-gamelaunch.wav same as the emu.ini and layout files (ie: MAME.ini / MAME.lay etc)

#1 Have you resized the screen using the layout editor?
#2 I think that you only get one sound, not a different one for each emu...
Hope it helped a little...

sorry, I don't follow. I set the screensize in the MAMEWAH config or .ini file (I'll have to veryify which). The layouts are all 800x600 (some I used as-is) a couple I re-sized to 800x600. How do the layouts/layout-editor effect the screensaver?

I was basing the functionality and naming convention on the WIKI information:
1. emuname-SOUNDFILENAME.wav emulator specific sound clip
Replace 'SOUNDFILENAME' with the below for different events:
7. gamelaunch plays when a game is launched
did I mis-intrepret this?

The sound files do not need a prefix that is emu specific. Just place them in the appropriate folder. For instance:
c:\mamewah\config\mame\gamelaunch.wav
c:\mamewah\config\mame\gameexit.wav
c:\mamewah\config\sega\gamelaunch.wav
c:\mamewah\config\sega\gameexit.wav
c:\mamewah\config\nintendo\gamelaunch.wav
c:\mamewah\config\nintendo\gameexit.wav
If you place them in the config folder they will be played for all platforms. I think MameWAH parses for sound files which means it first checks in the same folder as the lay file and then backs up one folder to the config folder, hence you can have game specific sounds in the emu folder and defaults in the config folder.

The screensize (resolution) is set in the layout. If your layout has been modified from one in a bigger resolution, then the chances are somebody didn't resize the image box on the screensaver form, which would cause the issue you describe.
In short, open the layout in the layout designer, select the screensaver form and resize the artwork image box.

Thanks minwah! Resolved the screensaver / screensize issue. Took me a couple minutes to figure out the Artwork resizing on the screen (it was running off the edges so I couldn't grab it to reduce it at first). Eventually I figured it out and that issue is closed.
Still needing a bit of help on the gamelaunch sounds.
I have my layouts in: e:\MAMEWAH\LAYOUTS\CUSTOM (my layouts work ok)
I have my Emus in: e:\EMUs\SEGA or Atari260 or SNES, etc.
From my understanding of the above suggestion, I should put the respective .wav file in the ....\SEGA file, named Gamelaunch.wav.
correct?
I looked for a config file in MAMEWAH, but didn't see one.
Can someone clarify??
Thanks Again

Is anybody utilizing the Gamelaunch sounds?
What is the trick? I'm missing it. Maybe I just mis-interpreted the instructions, but I've tried it a couple different ways now, where an I going wrong??
