I'm out of town on business and I visited the Gameworks here. I played a game called Turret Tower. Any of you guys ever play this? This is what it looks like:

The way it works is you get in the game and insert your money (swiped a card). The game asks you to lock the door, then it asks you to fasten the seat belt. The game has great sound and it vibrates the seat.
I was checking out the control panel and it had a flight stick with a trigger and a thumb trigger. On the base was a start button and at the top of the cp was a button that looked like this:

I was thinking... interesting. That would be a cool button to put on my CP to exit a game or something. I pushed it and all hell broke loose. Apparently it's a real alarm so someone can "free" you from the game.
When the game starts, you move the joystick and the whole inside spins with you. It was really cool. The game was just so-so, but it was real immersive. Pretty cool - you should check it out if you find one.
I also saw a frogger there. I decided to give it a quick play. They stuck an 8 way joystick in it. If you play much frogger, you know that doesn't work very well. That was disappointing.

You're about as patient as a horny dog.

I think you setting off the alarm is quite humorous.
Of course, it must have been terrifying for you... :

The only dog I like is a tasty hot dog. The game looks cool. It's always disappointing when the game doesn't support the greatness of its surroundings.

Yeah, I had enough credits to play Turret Tower and Hyperbowl. First I played Turret Tower and it was pretty fun, then I played Hyperbowl (on a very large projector screen). It was a stinker - it looks like this:

Perhaps I would've have a better time if I chose a different level. I played actual bowling and I much prefer Capcom Bowling. Win some Lose some. 1 common theme between all the new games is trying to get as much money out of you as possible.

Only put that button on your CP if you can support the screaming alarms (and preferably some flashy lights).

That's nothing new. Don't forget "sensors detect another quarter in your pocket" from Atari's Starship One. ;D

I have played Turroet Tower at Gameworks in Minnapolis. Fun. Also the Gameworks in Minneapolis had the full Hyperbowling setup. Yeah, normal level sucks, you need to use the other ones. Also you can get a PC version of hyperbowling.

Yeah - I feel the same way about DOT. But I would hop on a chance to get a DOT environmental cab in a minute!

lol... I can picture the employees running over to help you... I bet they get that a lot >:D

I played it at Dave and Busters. If I recall it wasn't very well executed (seems like a good idea though). It would jolt you around and it didn't feel like I was really in a turret shooting at things. More like I was in a jerky motorized chair while playing a mediocre videogame. :)

I played that hyperbowling in San Francisco a few years back. I remember it hurting my hands from slapping the ball so hard after about 30 minutes or so. I'm kind of girly though, so ymmv.

Las Vegas by any chance? I played turret tower at the GameWorks in las vegas back in May - It was ok I guess.
Kinda lame when you go to las vegas and all you can think about is going to gameworks and espn zone for the arcade games!

Don't forget the pinball HoF: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=50674.msg503727
And the skee-ball style mini-bowling game they have at ESPN zone is quite amusing! Way better than hyperbowling imo.
