Title: Safe to delete ini's?
Post by: Czapala on August 03, 2006, 02:03:53 pm
so I was going through a res problem:

but I was wondering if it is possible to just go into the ini folder in mame and delete all those files (except for the mame.ini).

I am at work now but when I get home I was going to try that ... maybe.

Is that Safe to do?

Yes.

I concure

Any game that does not have a separate .ini file, mame will refer to mame.ini for that game.

I only have a few games that I have a separate .ini file for.

Well I deleted ALL ini's in the ini folder.

Then ran mame -createconfig.

Then edited it and turned hwstretch to 0(off). (Per Ultimarc's Monitor FAQ site)

The games look better than they have so far.  Almost perfect.

Edit: Out of curiosity Loadman, which games do you have seperate ini files for?

Elevator action and Rally x

For some reason they were upside down when used vertically

so I have the opposite rotate setting for those
