I've been working on this for the past few hours and wanted to show what I have so far. TJH is my son's initals. Thanks for any feedback
-
And here is the marquee
-
Do the three buttons for the trackball get in the way of player 2's access to the joystick?
Also, I think the CP looks pretty good, you may want to try it with all of character's having their full color back but keep the red to black to blue fade behind them.
Same with Ken or Ryu or whoever on the marquee.
If you don't like the CP with all the characters colored in you could just pick around 6 or so to colorize and they would definently stand out from the background and the "non-colored" characters.
-
like this?
-
nice job :applaud:
you've just done what i originally wanted to do with that image.
i salute you...
and yet i hate you. ;D
-
butter, looks fabulous, but the real question is: do you like it?
-
I'm not sure if I like it with the fighters colored in or not. I'll have to decide.
Toe, pm me if you want me to send the picture with the top background cut out already. I can send it in photoshop format of any other format that works for you.... sorry to have stolen your idea. It's the best artwork I've seen out there for a fighting themed cabinet.
-
If you don't like all the characters colored in, have you tried picking some of your favorites and coloring them while leaving the rest "faded into the background"
-
first panel looks fine but the marquee is kinda retarded..stretching pictures never work. so either just have ryu in there or put ryu and ken on the marquee.
-
:blah:

Retarded, huh? I'll ignore your comment because if I wanted my marquee to look like yours I would have done so. And by the way retard, it would be "streatching pictures never works (with and S)"
-
um..your artwork still sucks..n00b :laugh2:
:blah:

um...no. it would be "stretching pictures never work"
you loose.
(with and S)"
without "and S" :)

how about
"pictures outside of their original proportions have an unusually weighted tendency towards being perceived as craptacular in origin" ?
my two cents
-
gettin rowdy :timebomb: :banghead: :badmood:
:laugh2:

Looks pretty nifty with the fighters in full color, IMHO! And can I say once again, there's a lot of lucky kids with folks on this forum.
P.S. "stretching"
-
I really like the second one best with the original colors. If you would do you mind sending me the image as well. I agree its one of the best images for a figher cab controller.

Good catch Lutus !!!
What a :tool:.

:applaud: Nice Job on that control panel graphic Butters! Have you done anything with it? I have a street fighter 3 cab and that control panel would look sweet on mine!
-
Just a suggestion, based on my personal experiences: unless you are truly confident of the printing and your construction abilities, I would refrain from putting button hole circles in your art. If they don't match up with the holes in the panel, it looks lame...forever.
-
I agree. I created it in Photoshop with different layers so I'm only having the grafics printed. I just put the buttons in there for the visual refrance.

Sensitive much?
Thanks for any feedback
Unless it comes from SNAAKE, who has been a respected member of this community (especially as far as artwork, and even more specifically fighter based arwork, is concerned) for some time. He probably could have chosen a less offensive word to describe how the artwork would look bad, but his advice was spot on.
The control panel with the full color fighters looks great.
[On a side note...]
If you are going to get all grammar police on someone, you should at least make sure your flame thrower isn't spewing its own ill-typed crapola.

Hey Thanks Butters for coming thru with the picture! Where are you gonna get your control panel art printed? and on what kind of material? im still wondering how im gonna do it...
