I was wondering if this graphic would be suitable for printing. I would just take out the grey line and the wii lettering. I am not sure who made this picture but it is incredible.
-
If you can find a larger version, go for it. I prefer 300 dpi art for printing.
-
Well I can't seem to find a bigger copy of it. Does anyone have a photoshop tutorial on enlarging jpegs? Whenever I try I just get blocky pixels.
-
You get blocky pixels because you are enlarging a jpeg. If the image was a vector file it would upscale perfectly. And anyone on here would tell you that vectorizing that picture..... WOW, don't know what else to say nigh impossible. (If you plan on entering a cave for a month and working on it you may get it halfway done)
Look for a larger resolution. Sorry.
EDIT: where did you get that graphic anyways?
-
This artwork is pretty nice. What resolution is needed for a good side art? Does any one have any other multigame collage type side art files they can share? Thanks.
-
The only good way we go about enlarging small images is with Genuine Fractals. It does a good job of boosting low res images, but only to a certain degree. More than double and it can't interpolate real well.

The image was on the front page of www.digg.com. The article said it was for an add for the virtual console for the nintendo wii. Turns out it was just a picture someone made and posted on a msg board.

You know, if what we saw on TV was real then wouldn't you think we would have those same really cool tools that owners of Casinos, FBI, etc. use to blow up crappy videos, when the tell the dummy showing them the video feed to "zoom in on that" and then always followed by the "sharpen that up" or "clean that up" (like the guy didn't know that was coming).
Anyway, if we had those crazy mad graphic tools then this image could be blown up to the size of the Lebron James billboard in Cleveland with no loss in clarity.
Just my useless thought for the day. :soapbox:
-
Did you already try contacting the person who made it?
Definately join that forum and send the dude a pm. Maybe if your nice and you give him credit every time someone admires it, hell let you use it.
I find it pretty hard to beleive that the only copy of a picture that intricate is a jpeg. Im willing to bet hes got it saved in a format thats just too big (filesize-wise) to put on the internet, aswell.
Goodluck.

That's a damn fine piece of art. I probably just missed him, but I didn't see Link in there.
-
Would you be able to do a small high quality print of it, re-scan it in a stupidly high resolution and get it printed bigger? I don't know if it would work though, just a thought.

Yeah that always ticks me off. My favorite is the one where they zoom in on a reflection and get a perfect image of their suspect. WTF!!!!!!! I need that version of photoshop.
