anyone have any reason to believe this? i mean 2.80 is out, but i still havent dove into the PSP to study it myself.

this is just emulated on a 1.5 correct? why doesnt anyone make up their own firmware/update?

There is a custom firmware out, although it is not a completely *NEW* firmware.  It is an offset of 1.5 with some tweaks included.

2.71 works fine in DevHook.

no.

You can downgrade from 2.6 or below.

There are currently no options (that I know of) for 2.70, 2.71, and 2.80 for playing homebrew.
