Title: mala and mame107
Post by: philby85 on July 29, 2006, 02:15:59 am
Hi All,

Set up mala works great! Installed mame 107 and roms works well. However when in mala i try and configure mame so that it skips the disclaimer, game info and validation check. None of these settings are written to mame.ini when i exit. i have e-installed mala, tried mame106 ans mame32.

cheers

Phil

Not sure if you can change that in the latest versions anyway. I have seen a few posts

Have a look at you mame.ini to see if you have that option

I use mame .89 and all is good for me

If you check at mame.net I'm sure you can find out when they changed things. You could try using an earlier version (if your roms work with it)

Glad to hear most of your games are working now (you told me via PM)

If you are feeling confident you can sort out your roms for the mame version you are using via this app:

I had this problem, but I would change them manually in the mame.ini file, but when I ran MAME it would overwrite my changes, it really pissed me off.  What I did is open the mame.ini file, make all nessecary changes (skip_disclaimer, skip_gameinfo, confirm_quit etc) and save the ini file.  Then, right click on the file itself, and click on properties.

Make the file READ ONLY and MAME won't be able to override any changes you made.    Maybe that will help.

This is off topic from the original post, but the last few posts have been about this:

Mame32 will rewrite your ini file every time you go into the options.

I have edited and compiled a version of .107 MAME32 with the skip options in the mame source and also available in the options UI so you can use the options freely.  If anyone wants it, PM me with an email address that can take at least a 12MB attachment.  I will send you the P4 optimized version unless you tell me otherwise.

Well seems as if I was talking out my butthole yet again :-[ It worked with version 103, but not 107.
