Title: Simpsons Movie Clips
Post by: AtomSmasher on July 27, 2006, 12:46:42 pm
Some movie clips bootlegged from Comic-Con
http://www.filmwad.com/clips-from-the-simpsons-movie-769-p.html

And don't bother posting about how Simpsons sucks and Family Guy rules, I already know several of you feel that way.

There wasn't a whole lot to them.  I watched them yesterday, its a total of 20 seconds of concept art.  Still cool, but you're not missing a ton of stuff.

I'm just wondering what kind of story they could come up with that would justify a big screen movie. They've done EVERYTHING on that show.

That is correct. A Simpsons movie is something I would definitely NOT watch. Family Guy is excellent!

That's ridiculous.  Family Guy can't even compete with the 17th or 18th seasons of Simpsons.  Comparing it to Simpsons 2nd-8th or so seasons is insanity.  It's like saying that NSync is better than the Rolling Stones.

Oh dear, it's turning into a "Simpsons vs. Family Guy" thread...

The past season of the Simpsons, I think, was superior to Family Guy this year.  I don't know but it seems Family Guy is relying too heavily on the random pop-culture reference lately with jokes that go on three times longing than they need to.  Are they trying to come up with their own "rake scene"? (Simpsons fans will know what I'm talking about).

I don't see why people have to choose one or the other anyway.  They're on the same network at different times.  Watch both.

Simpsons sucks and Family Guy rules
In 15 years we'll be saying Family Guy sucks and some other show rules.  Simpsons is still the mark all shows strive too, but Family Guy is more current and has more twisted story lines.  Hence the reason its audience is growing.  But it has a long way to go to top the Simpsons/South Park peak audience numbers.

To put it in perspective, how many times in television history can you say "17th and 18th season"? It's still on for a reason.

YouTube took these clips down but surely they are still out there somewhere. Anyone have a link?

P.S. I hate Family Guy, Simpsons all the way baby! What other CURRENT tv show is also RETRO? Remember, Bart used to go up against the COSBY SHOW for cripes sake!!!

Eric.

I've noticed that I'm in the minority on the internet as someone who really likes both the Simpsons and Family Guy.

I don't get why so many people (not all) act like you *must* love one and hate the other.

Whatever though, I don't really watch much tv to begin with, that may be part of the reason.

I love dem both too.

I think that the whole 18 season argument isn't that impressive, because I think that some of the seasons were pretty half-assed. Overall, Simpsons is a historical show, A pioneer in comedy cartooning, and Family Guy only exhists due to the breakthroughs of THe Simpsons.

Family Guy is still relativly new, and definitly can prove itself to be just as spetacular. To say that Family Guy is relaying too heavily on pop culture is a bogus complaint. The show is based on relaying on pop culture. It is about a guy whose reality is warped by TV. If you watch the first Episodes, they originally wanted  each episode to begin with a parody of something on TV, later, they just put pariodies everywhere. There will always be pop culture to make fun of, and Family Guy does have potential to last quite a long time. The thing that family guy did, was a entirely new angle of comedy, and you find that things like robot chicken are taking cue from family guy.

Well people who worked on family guy work on robot chicken, right? I know I've heard the voices of Seth McFarland, Alex Borestein, and Seth Green on RC before.

It is Seth Green's show.
