Hah, great mini-army of mini-cabs!
Looks a little odd with donkey kong on the screen, but I like the modern graphics on this render: http://picasaweb.google.com/getmoresun/Bartop/photo#4943498352865771538

So I'm looking through the thumbnails for the army of mini-cabs, thinking to myself that nobody has done that since BishmasterB ... lo and behold, it appears it actually is BishmasterB's army, along with a number of other nice bartops.
Nice work, BTW.
Cheers.

Ahhhhh, the stuff on the bottom must be sources of inspiration. I should have recognized those, doh! Either way, all those bar tops are swanky... they're like kittens, how couldn't you like em.

I was looking through the pictures and came across some cabs that looked really familiar...wow, those look just like mine! Hey, those are mine!
I like your design chris77. Nice work.
-
chris77, do you have the dimensions for this cab? I am looking for something... well, that looks just like that I guess you could say. Great job.
-
thanks for the nice comments :)
the dimensions are approximately 45cm (17,7") widht, 60cm (23,6") length, 65cm (25,6") height.
greetz,
chris

Thanks for the general dimensions. Also, a great collection of bartop project pics in your album. Did you reference all these other projects for inspiration and whatnot?
Also, what are you using as your Control Panel overlay, the clear part over the artwork? It doesn't appear to be Lexan. Is it a think transparency of some sort?
-
yes, the other cool bartops are for inspiration, especially the yellow one that looks very similar to mine. for control panel overlay i used plexiglass... but i want to switch to lexan, because its more robust/stable.

I'd stick with the plexi. Lexan will scratch easier.
[EDIT]
Oh yeah...
Nice bartop. :)
So many people making these things lately. I can't decide if I want a bartop or a cocktail to be my next unfinished project.
-
I want one. :) That's sexy. I really like the orange/white rendition also.

Dude, how did u go about cutting out the MDF frame for the screen to go in??? I had to do this for my cab, and didnt have a dead set way to go about it, just alot of guess work and filing, took hours to get is spot on. Just woundered if u had a fail proof way of doing it?
-
i have made a stencil with carton. use a felt tip pen to mark the outlines of the monitor.
