I'm getting ready to hook my laptop into my shiny new JPAC, and into my cabinet w/Arcade monitor. I know that I still have LOTS of research to do regarding proper resolutions/scan rates, and stuff like that, but I'm too excited to spend days researching right now! ;D
Is it true that the JPAC will block any harmful signals before they get to the monitor? (Wells Gardner 25") Will I just have to deal with distortion/picture cropping/no image until I figure out how to configure all the video aspects of an arcade monitor?
I'm excited to try some games out, even if they look a little wonky for now! Can I hook this thing up or what?! Thanks so much for your help!

from my experiance, yes the jpac will filter out harmful signals, but I think that there are some better authories on the jpac out there that could give a more definite answer.
Here is a quote from the Ultimarc Page in reference to the jpac:
"Custom microcontroller only allows sync signals to be sent to the monitor if they are in the correct range that the monitor is designed for. Avoids driving the monitor with a too-high horizontal sync rate which can damage some arcade monitors."

Can your laptop put out a 15KHz signal ? If not, your excitement could end in dissapointment.
Cheers

Still trying to figure out how to figure that out. :)
