I was over at fry's today and i got to touch the xarcade joysticks in person. I liked the laminate on the control panel. Anyone know where i can buy this? is it easy to work with? i just need something simple yet durable
thanks

Doesnt have to be specific or anything right?
Home depot sells laminate.
You buy that.
Then, you go to your local hardware and ask for a good plexi glass cutter.
score the laminate couple of times and snap it.
use contact cement to apply laminate.
apply the laminate first then drill holes and everything should be fine.
This is the easy way..you could go the other way around and get a router then route using laminate cutting bit but I dont think you need a router just for a panel(waste of money if you are doin just a panel).

I'm not sure about the X-Arcade, but if it is anything like the HotRod then it is a textured Lexan. I think the HotRod actually uses a velvet lexan, but I don't know for sure.
Something like this (self-adhesive style)? http://www.3m.com/us/mfg_industrial/adhesives/pdf/7737FL.pdf
Velvet lexan should be available at most good print shops and they can reverse print on it. I've called a few shops around me, and I didn't have much trouble finding it. I was thinking about having my cp art reverse printed on velvet lexan and then using some kind of adhesive to stick it down, just like the HotRod. I'd check with the print shop first to see if they had any recommendations on an adhesive or an alternate way to hold it down, though.

yes it is textured........how much are the print shops charging the velvet lexan?
reverse printing? do you mean they'll scan your art and print it on the lexan for you?
