Hi I just did a complete format and reinstall on my Mame cab and now I can't use the trackball to play games. It works fine with Windows 98, but no games. I have "enable mouse input" checked in the Mame configuration, but it still doesn't work. I also tried "mame -mouse [rom name]" just to be sure. Any idea's?

Each mouse is treated as a seperate device in mame now, so if you have more than one mouse, it just isn't mapped properly. Your system mouse is almost always mouse one and any accessories (an extra mouse, a trackball you plug in for gaming ect) is mouse 2.

This machine is a dedicated Mame machine so I don't have a system mouse, I just use the trackball. Also I tried Mame32 and the trackball works fine. Am I missing a setting somewhere? This is probably something very simple and I will feel foolish when I figure it out but I am stumped...

OK problem solved. You were right I checked the device manager and it had 2 mice listed. So I removed both and restarted the system, then another restart after the mouse was detected by windows, and it now works. Thank you for the help. Back to gaming...
