I just finished setting up the bezel/monitor box on my prototype cab, and the screen will only be 12" from the player's eyes. Is this too close? The problem is the cardboard won't support my monitor, so I can't really test the distance in its natural environment. Also, the player will be looking sort-of down at the screen, as the cabinet is rather small; I already know I don't mind that (I want this cab to work for both standing and sitting), but the combination of being close and looking downward might be a bit much.
So what do y'all think? Is a foot from the screen, looking a bit down, too close?

That looks fine to me, provided that your monitor will be angled back some. If you plan to have the monitor mounted at 90

I would say move it back a bit more if you can - it will make it easier to see the whole screen at once for better gameplay. If you are too close, it can be hard to take in the "big picture."

If it's angled back and you have it so you're sight is perpendicular to the screen then I think it might be ok
