Hi everybody!!! i'm becoming mad!!!
is there anyone that use zinc with mamewah 1.62 10b? I search in a lot of way but nothing...please help me :'(

This is for v1.61 but with it should be pretty straightforward to convert with a few changes to zinc.ini:

Xfactor hi.
The problem with zinc is that it's based on an number asignation, instead of name asignation. For example, in command line if you want to run street fighter (sfex) you type "zinc.exe 2" instead of "zinc.exe sfex"; in this example I've omitted all the various swithes available. It's important to get familiarized with zinc syntaxis through commandline first.
To be able to execute zinc from a frontend, there are several ways. Howard has a wrapper that has had a lot success. In my case, I wanted to find a solution of my own, which is why I made a quick VBS file (I've attached, along with my zinc.cfg; just remove the txt extension) that has to be in the same folder as zinc.exe. To run the vbs in mamewah, all you do is modify the following option in your zinc.ini in the mamewah\ini folder:
emulator_executable d:\zinc\wrapper.vbs
This may not be the most elegant solution, but it works. And remember, zinc just needs a bit of patience, however the end result is worth it.
Hope this works for you.
Cheers, :cheers:

Did you follow all the instructions? Try taking a look in mamewah.log after trying to launch a game and see what it says...

I don't find the wrapper...so i used the vbs..I tried putting zinc.cfg in the config/zinc folder.. but nothing work.

Read and follow my instructions, you do not need a wrapper.
I tried putting zinc.cfg in the config/zinc folder.. but nothing work.
You don't need zinc.cfg to set this up - you only need that which I have provided in the zip file. You're overcomplicating things when there is no need to ;)
-
Hi.
Do you have the zinc.cfg file in the same folder as your zinc.exe?

Maybe it's better if I told you what I have and where:
In Mamewah\ini\ I have zinc.cfg
In Mamewah\config\Zinc\ I have Zinc.ini and zinc-0.ini
In Zinc\ I have \cfg, \roms, \snaps, catver.ini, controller.znc, render.cfg, s11player.dll, sound.znc, wrapper.vbs, zinc batch MS-DOS, zinc.dat, zinc. nms
...

Hi.
Move your zinc.cfg file to your Zinc folder; after all, this is file belongs to zinc and not mamewah. You will also want to edit the file, once it's in your zinc folder, and change the following parameter to point where your roms are (I'm using the same mame roms with no problem):
--roms-directory=d:\mame\roms\

I lunch a game and nothing...
the mamewah log say:
19/07/2006 16.43.20 emulator_executable: does not exist in RunGame!
what is the meaning?

Did you update the zinc.ini file for Mamewah v1.62? Post the file if you want a hand....

Hi.
Lets give it another shot. Here's part of my zinc.ini:
### ZiNc.ini (mamewah v1.61) ###
emulator_title ZiNc
### List Generation Settings ###
rom_path d:\mame\roms
rom_extension zip
dat_file d:\zinc\Zinc.dat
nms_file
catver_ini_file d:\zinc\ZincCatVer.ini
list_generation_method rom_folder_vs_dat_file
### Execution Settings ###
emulator_executable d:\zinc\wrapper.vbs
commandline_format [name]{autodosbox}{nosafelaunch}
alt_commandline_format_1 [name]{autodosbox}{nosafelaunch}
alt_commandline_format_2 [name]{autodosbox}{nosafelaunch}
game_specific_config_path
I think the main difference (from seeing Minwah's ini file), besides the rom_path, is that he's using:
list_generation_method dat_file
while I'm using the:
list_generation_method rom_folder_vs_dat_file
If that doesn't work, then I'm clueless. And believe me, that's the way I have it at home; it works for me flawlessly.

Replace:
emulator_commandline D:\Zinc\wrapper.vbs
...with:
emulator_commandline d:\zinc\zinc.exe [name]{nodosbox}{safelaunch}
...unless you have to use the wrapper for some reason. I have no idea what that wrapper is, and my method does not require a wrapper so I can only recommend that really.
