I am going to buy a new computer soon and I need a new desk. I was recently going to build one to make up for the arcade machine I couldn't build but soon realized that it would be very very hard. So I looked on the internet and found a desk I wanted and tried to add some of my custom desk's features. I wanted a racing seat and a 7.1 surround sound system. I have the seat done but I need some help installing the 7.1 system.
The desk I want is here (http://"http://www.modernhomeoffice.com/leadcost.html") and the speaker system is here (http://"http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16836116153"). I had ideas such as making a wood shelf-like thing and PVC but I don't know how I would keep the speakers to "stick" to the PVC. So as arcade builders, I thought that you might know of ways to install a 7.1 speaker system. Thanks for any help!

I don't offer much useful advise, but first off I fixed your links:

attaching speakers to pvc should be easy. The speakers have a spot on the back for made to hang it on a wall, just put in a screw into the pvc and hang it from that. I think a pvc on a desk would probably look very cheap, but then it would be very cheap to build. Get what you pay for I guess. I would recommend making a corner desk with your computer monitor in the corner. That way you can just have the surround speakers attached to the actual desk. Essentially this desk (http://www.modernhomeoffice.com/wowihu.html) without the bookshelf.

PVC probably wouldn't look too awful if you got some Krylon Fusion paint and used that on it to recreate a powder finish look, like one of the Hammered line or maybe a Textured Shimmer.

Thanks you so much guys. I was going to paint the PVC and maybe do some cool lighting with it anyway.
@AtomSmasher: I didn't know that they had a wall mount fixture available, thanks! And I was thinking about a corner desk for other reasons but then the racing seat wouldn't be possible. (I thought about making it turn but nothing looked promising as in cheap and durable.)

7 speakers for $66.00 ?
You sure you want to go to all this trouble for the sake of $10 speakers?

Well, it was either 86 (or 66) or 430. Not that hard. Those were the only two I saw at newegg for 7.1 and I want to take advantage of my 7.1 sound card. ;)
