Title: Joystick support in Mala RC7??
Post by: tk_42_1 on July 11, 2006, 02:49:27 pm
Moved from Mala RC6 to RC7 and all of a sudden my joysticks are not being seen by Mala.

I have two 49-ways running off of 2 GP-Wiz49s.  They work fine in MAME if I start the games with the keyboard through Mala.  They just aren't seen and everytime I check the "Use joystick" box, its unchecked when I go back into options.

Anyone have any ideas???

Could be a bug. I job for SWINDUS  :-)

I don't use joysticks but that is the second post I have seen about joysticks problems with RC7

Found the bug. The joystick is always disabled when using a joystick with 2 axis only. There will be an update soon on the MaLa webpage.

Woot!  Bugfixes are always good, and that one's nasty for homebrew arcade machines, as I'd say most people using joysticks have 2-axis arcade ones :)

Although that is an interesting point, I have two joysticks per player - one analogue Ultra 360 hooked up as joystick, one 8-way X-Arcade hooked up to keyboard, it shouldn't be too hard to get the 8-way setup as two more axis of the first joystick.
