Hey.
I've got a problem. Some games don't appear in MameWah. These games do appear in the GUI for Mame32. Also, I used a configuration tool and they appear in the list with that, but are not displayed when you actually run the front end. I have tried a fresh install of MameWah and that did not work either. Needless to say pressing "Generate a List" doesn't work either.
Some of the games that don't appear are merged but others are not (for example, Garou).
Thanks in advance,
Drew

I get the same thing...I haven't been able to figure out what's wrong...

The list works just fine in Mala though. Does anyone know what is causing this problem?
Thanks,
Drew

I tried Mala as well...seems to work fine there for me too...

What version of MAME is this with? I have never heard of this problem before...

What method have you set in the ini file for mamewah to generate the list, where some options checked like display parents only or something like that? Should be in the mame.ini in the mamewah folders.

I assume I'm using the "rom_folder_vs_listxml".
For the record, here's the mame.ini file:

I'm using V.97...
Mamewah definately works OK with that version (not so sure about v0.106 as I haven't tried it)...
All I can think of is not to use merged roms (I did read what you said but this is all I can think of).

Hey.
It turns out that its not just "some games" that don't show up. I donwload fresh copies of both MameWah and MamePlus! and when I try to generate a list nothing is displayed.
Could someone give me a hand?
Thanks,
Drew

Hey guys,
I had this exact same problem, it went from not showing some of my games, to not showing ANY of them. Searching this board I found the solution, however, my computers crashed since then and I can't remember what I did. But I do know this. It has something to do with a DAT file or something of the like which is compiled to tell MameWah what the games are, or something. I think like commandline Mame does this on its own, but GUI Mame32 does not. And some games work in Mame32 that don't work in commandline Mame.
So basically, there was a file that is with commandline Mame, or something that will extract information into a file you name and you need to move this file to the mame32 directory and use it and path the readout to the name of the file you need. And I know all this sounds good but theres really no answer here. I'm just hoping to bump this tread and find someone who knows what im talking about, otherwise, ill search the forum and see if I can find it and upate this post.

Ah OK guys make sure you have xml2info.exe in your Mame folder. Mamewah relies on this but doesn't report if it is missing - I have since added that in my wip beta.
I think that should sort it...

Hey.
Cool, thanks for figuring it out.
I managed to get mine working using MameWahConfig. I'm using Mame Plus! and I cannot get a xml2info.exe to work, so I have to use the config program. Anyways, I found out I wasn't hitting "save" after configuring. Wow. :applaud:
