I'm looking to replace 12 trackball bearings (yes, 2 trackballs) and I dont want to spend $4 each at Happ.
Is there a better way? Like a bearings only distributor or something. And is there a name or exact dimension for the bearings I need?

Actually $4 each is a good price. If you really want to go elsewhere, good old Bob Roberts has bearings for just about every trackball ever made on his parts page.
There are other nationwide bearing suppliers across the USA including these (look in your local Yellow Pages under "Bearings"):
Bearings, Inc. (now known as Applied Industrial Technology)
McMaster-Carr (www.mcmaster.com)
W.W. Grainger, Inc. (www.grainger.com)
Your local Ace Hardware store has ball bearings in those pull out drawers in with the nuts and bolts. You'll spend $10 a bearing there though.
