Seems like a simple repair, but I don't have it quite right.
I have a standard kitchen faucet where you pull the handle up to turn the water on, turn it right for hot, left for cold. I replaced the cartridge to stop a leak and that worked fine. Now, I have a new problem. I can turn the water and it's nice and smooth, but turning it off requires finesse. You have to really make sure it's all the way down. Just a little bit up and the water starts running. I thought I put it back together correctly, but must be missing something obvious.
Any thoughts?

that's why I find it so much easier to replace the whole faucet rather than a part inside the faucet.....

I had a similar problem a while back. I just went to a hardware store and bought a kitchen faucet repair kit and relapced all the springs and washers, and it worked like a charm.

No springs in mine. I replace the 2 O-rings at the same time as the cartridge, moen 1225.
The handle seems to have a little play and I may be missing a washer. Don't recall seeing a washer, but going to try that first.

Just an FYI...As was the case at least a few years ago, both Moen and Delta had numbers you could call for free parts. Moen's is 1-800-BUY MOEN and Delta's is 1-800-345-DELTA. I am not sure if the parts are still free but they used to be. I know those Moen 1225's and 1222's are pretty spendy. You will need a model number. It may not be free for Home Depot versions though. This was when I worked in the plumbing wholesale business. It would be worth a try.
