Title: What Software to use?
Post by: Grauwulf on July 05, 2006, 09:06:21 pm: I've been doing some research on this and I'm still stumped, hopefully someone here can help me out. I have a Rock-ola 454 juke that the mechanics are just trashed in. What I want to do is set it up with a computer inside and use the stock controls to mimic the original operation. So basically the thing is still going to only have 160 songs at any given time, no monitor showing (there will be one mounted inside for administrative purposes) and will look and feel just like it did with the 45rpm mech in place. I will be using an i-PAC for an interface, so I can remap the controls however I need to. Can anyone get me set on the right path for the software that will work for my setup?

Yes, I am determined to not have a screen, I want this to as closely mimic the function of the original machine as possible. I want to make use of the existing controls. Why 'fix' something that isn't broken? Besides, there really isn't any place to put a monitor on this unit.

i am using the old seeburg machines pre-1978's and what i did was use SK jukebox and connected the ipac2 to the coin slot.if using a digital jukebox then you can wire the keypad to the ipac to make people use the same keypad to key in song requests.
i then printed the song list and allocated numbers to it.
this stays outside the jukebox and the pc sits inside the jukebox.
wired the actual old jukebox amplifier to my pc sound card using the pre-amp inputs and i've got a working "real" jukebox that can throw out upto 700 songs.
I am really grateful to SK for his jukebox as well as Andy warne for his ipac's
let me know if you need any more help.

Been working on bug fixes right now, but thank you for reminding me! I'm working hard on it this week, I'll try to get that in.
