Title: Still having the Ms. Pacman problem. Could it be the flyback?
Post by: bsgamble on July 05, 2006, 07:02:49 pm
I think box directly on the monitor is called the flyback.  Could this be the problem for my scrolling screen?  If I turn the right knob up I can get the screen to be still but there are white lines straight verticle down the screen and the screen itself is somewhat white.  When i adjust that knob down the white lines go away however the screen starts scrolling again.  Im at a loss here and cant find anyone in my area that knows anything about it.  Any help would be greatly appriciated.  Thanks!

some sort of power issue on the chassis, probably something to do with the caps(thats if your vertical/horizontal hold don't sort it)

Checking and adjusting the B+ maybe....... fiddling with the flyback is actually an adjustment on the screen voltage, so maybe there a B+ issue.

Monitor type??
(haven't looked for the original post yet)

once in the very distant past i did have a flyback that would break down causing the same fault,i guess it could be to do with one of the windings shorting out

It would be easier to read up on that in the manual.
Kinda hard to explain, it's part of the power supply on the monitor chassis itself.

Did you find an exact model of that monitor?

Then for your own safety you should not be working on monitors. It is highly suggested you have a professional repair it.
