Title: Bad Kitty
Post by: JeepMonkey on July 03, 2006, 09:23:00 pm
So I got my ultimarc parts in from DiveMaster today, pretty much everyting I need to really get to work on my cab.

So I am all stoked to get to work.  Go upstairs to get my marque plexi which I washed up last night.  My cat got all spazed and jumped up on my 17" CRT, knocked my monitor off the desk, and right onto my plexi, shattering it into 25 pieces.  Luckily no real damage to the monitor.

Figures.  We might be eating BBQ kitty for the 4th.

Save some of the BBQ sauce and dab it on during the last five minutes of cooking.  Serve with slaw, and you've got yourself one humdinger of a celebration! w00t!

I was thinking about serving with a side of baked beans mixed with hamburger and bacon.  Then I thought why not layer kitty with BBQ sauce wrapped in bacon.

Wow. No wonder you Americans are super-sized.

Why can't you get get your cat like everyone else? In healthy MSG-free Chinese food.

I don't get it... a 4lb cat knocked a 17" CRT off a desk?  With what, 6 other cats?

I was wondering this myself, was the CRT not sitting properly on the desk (ie base hanging over the edge) or is your cat really a lion?

 :laugh2:

In the cat's defence, the base was fairly close to the back edge of the desk.  She has sat up there a hundred times before without any problems.  She jumps on it from the front, probably pushing it back just a little each time until it fell over.

Hehe.

I remember something similar happened to a mate of mine.

I bought him an LCD monitor for last Xmas. His cats had a wonderful habit of sitting on top of his old CRT. So he sets it up and I tell him to watch it for a few days to make sure his cats don't try to jump up on it.
He told me the cats aren't that dumb. 5 secodns after that statement, the cat tries to jump up on it and lo and behold, there's nothing behind the screen anymore. The cat somehow managed to balance on the LCD monitor for a few seconds before jumping off and sending the monitor flying (which I managed to catch in time).

10 seconds later, the other bigger cat tried the same thing with similar results.  :)

CRTs are warm.  Cats like to sit on warm things.

A four pound cat would be pretty tiny. Most are more like 10.

Not around here... we have tons and tons of cats here, for some reason they're on the smallish side.  Definitely outdoor cats, in excellent condition.  They're everywhere.  The guy across the street has like 12 cats.

My girlfriends cat is 28lbs of grey fur.  I would shudder to think what would happen if she tried to sit on a monitor...

My cat just types with her paws while trying to grab the pointer.... of cource she opens all sorts of interesting programs as well, but thats how she got the name hacker to begin with. Bad luck about the plexi, and if you havent done it yet, may i suggest indirect smoking using hickory chips and a good thick bbq sauce? I'm also rather fond of shish ka bobs personally plus its very revengeful! Oh yeah, that pesky fur issue? ask peta about it its boiling water, ice water, repeat once and it pulls off easy as pie!

My cat once managed to jump on a motherboard that was being tested with the case open.  He managed to short out just the on-board sound.  I was impressed with his precision, but a little annoyed.
