Title: W.G. 33k8111 blows fuse
Post by: candyman on July 01, 2006, 02:00:16 pm
Hi all,
I got a golden tee '98 with a W.G. 33k8111 in it. As soon as power is applied, it blows fuse F100.  If I disconnect the power supply board (from main pcb) and apply power, the fuse will NOT blow. So I belive the problem is on the main pcb. The unit has not been capped yet, but I would like to know if there maybe a more likely problem area. I have tried emailing Wells Gardner for tech help and manual, but they have not replied.
Thanks for any help and have a SWEET DAY!

I'm assuming that the F100 fuse is on the monitor chassis, or is this a cabinet fuse?

And are you talking about the game pcb when you say "main pcb"?

Just trying to get a better idea of the problem here.......
(never seen a game pcb blow a monitor chassis fuse)

Kevin,
This model has 3 pcbs the first is a power supply mounted to the side of the chassis. It converts 120ac to 24v dc and B+(124?)dc.. This than supplies the main pcb that lies under the tube as in most models, and than there is the standard neck pcb. I removed all pcbs and checked for the usual burn marks, bad solder connections, dead animals, ect.. Everything "looks" ok, but I have never delt with this model and only have a bad copy of the elec. schem.
Thanks for your help.

i would be looking towards the psu board, maybe on the primary ac input(degauss coil and ptc componant, diode or bridge rectifier-anything the ac input really)

Hi all,
I have checked out the power supply board and all seems fine. I did find the Horz. output trans. is bad, I ordered a new one along with a cap kit. I will let everyone know after I get them installed.
