I just look at the light for the marquee in my ms pacman and it seems like its not plugged into anything. does anyone know where i can get any info on how to hook it up?
also, anyone know where i can get info on plugging in the coin door?
-
check the user manual at klov.com
-
been there done that. no pictures of the hook up unfortunatly.
-
i will try to take off my marque and get some pics sometime this weekend. do you have the complete wiring harness and just need to know which wires to connect to which terminals or are you going to create new wiring to plug into the harness?
-
On a Ms pac the light fixture plugs into a 3 pin AMP brand Universal Mate 'n Lock connector in the game harness.
The coin door also has an Amp brand Universal Mate 'n Lock connector, but I think it's 9 or 12 pins. It also is in the game wiring harness.

THe coin door is a 9 pin

thanks for the answers guys. to respond to jmbrissie, i believe i have the complete harness. thanks for taking the time to take pictures, you certainly rock sir.

here are the 2 pictures of the marque lights and a picture of where the 2nd fixtures wiring daisy chains back down the harness then out to the right side.
facing the machine, the 2nd pic is the left side, the 3rd is the right.
good luck,
hope these help

thank you very much for the pics. I am now all straight on the light, thanks for the help.
I do have a question on the coin door. It is a 12 pin, however I for the life of me cannot find the female part that the male 12 pin would go into to hook up the coin door.
is it possible its not installed?
if anyone has any pics, etc or info that would be great, thanks.

You should be able to backtrack the wire harness from the game pcb to find that.
-
it seems like part of it is hooked up to the pbc, thats the board right? if so, that part is hooked up however it seems like whatever would give it electical power is not hooked up and i cant find where it would hook up to.
(i am a total newbie, obviously)
-
Yeah, the game pcb is the large board.
I took a glance at the schematics:
Look at the big transformer in the bottom of the cab with a bunch of wires coming out of one side.
There should be a 2 amp fuse around there.
Looks like the 12v wires you are looking for are a blue w/ yellow AND a yellow w/ green.
There should be a set leading to the pcb and then a set heading towards the coin door connector for the lights.
I would think that all this will lead into a single connector for the coin door. (the 12pin or whatever)
Were you missing, looking for, the door side of the connector or the cabinet side?
You said you had the male end. (on the coin door itself?)
Just trying to put myself in your shoes to see what you are looking at / missing.
-
What you have said so far I have found up until the 12 pin coin door connector on the cabinet side.
The male end is on the coin door itself, what I cant find is I am assuming a female connector on the cabinet side.
-
Is there a "little" pcb in the cabinet that also goes to the coin counters?
Does your cab still have the original power supply and transformer setup?
Can you find these wires - blue w/ yellow AND a yellow w/ green? (a pair together)
Should also be running up to the game pcb. (12V)
Any pics you can get would help too........
-
I can see that there are wires hooked up to the pcb coming from the coindoor and almost wires from the same cluster going into the male connector on the coin door.
Here are links to a couple pictures that I had taken for an earlier post. If you cant see what you need from these two pictures I can take some more with more details, etc.

I see now...... been hacked up.
Can you get a pic inside the cab from the back showing what else has been done to the wiring? And the power supply area?
What is the connector hanging right by the opening below the coin counter?
(has it been hacked into also?)
Look around for anything that looks like it's been cut, spliced, or otherwise just not right. Keep note of those as you work around the cab. You should be able to narrow some of it down just by color code matching.
-
Yeah its not an original, someone put it together for us. I should have mentioned that.
I will take more pictures, hopefully by tonight.
thanks.
-
Yeah, It'll help us if we know what all is "Ms. Pac original" in the cab.
Is it an original cab?
We'll help ya out if we can.... sometimes it's easier when ya can put your hands on it versus imagining it. :-\
-
here are some more pics that might help. they are from an original pac-man machine but it should be the same as the ms. pac if its the original harness. otherwise you should be able to match the pin outs. let me know if you need more pics.
-
thanks for the pictures, mine looks different. basicly we had someone put one together and we wanted a mspacman board. i doubt much of it is original, i dont really care about original parts as long as they work. basicly i wanted a working mspacman that i could then add stuff to, etc. as you can see the control panel overlay i think is pacman jr and i have yet to get a ms pacman bezel.
here are some pictures, first is of the cab, the picture is flipped:

next is the back of the cab, wiring, etc:

next is a closer look at the back:
http://hongkongdvdcentral.com/images/images_16632/dj%20077.jpg
next is now the 12 pin coin door make plug that i cant find the female end of:
http://hongkongdvdcentral.com/images/images_16632/dj%20079.jpg
next is a picture of the parts of that 12 pin male plug that is wired to the board:
http://hongkongdvdcentral.com/images/images_16632/dj%20080.jpg
and finally the back of the coind door:

one other thing, i went in to the marquee to get that figured out and the 3 pin mate and lock coming from the light was not hooked up, so in the back of the cab is the 3 pin mate in lock part that its suposse connect it, however the wire is not long enough. is there like an exstention cord or something i can buy to bridge the gap or do i have to get one of those kits and get tools, etc?
again, thanks very much for your help, you guys are great.
-
That cab was originally a Super Pac-Man...... and then probably had a Jr. Pac conversion put in......and now you are going with a Ms. Pac.
So you might want to get the schematics from the other two games to get an idea what all might be different.
(easier said than done...I know)
As far as the marquee, can you just relocate (move) some of the wiring to make it reach? Or is it just waaaay too short?
-
yeah, i tried that, its just too short.
-
wow. after looking at your pcb and power pics its obviously not an original. strangely enough the transformer board looks just like an original but has an additional new power supply. sorry but i cant help on any of this stuff. its all different than my pac.
good luck,
brissie
-
thanks anyway. any idea about the mate n lock issue?
-
Not without running new or splicing extensions on the wire you already have, using the old connectors.
