Post by: zorg on June 30, 2006, 11:58:31 am
could someone having the Nimbus Sans No 4 Medium Condensed font can produce the simple vector path of the following words, and them provides me the resulting file please.

TURBO SHOOT BLOCK PASS STEAL

just copy paste in illustrator and select the convert to path option in the text menu.

Zorg,

I only have one Nimbus font, and I really can't dont anything with it. I was however able to create a somewhat very ,very close duplicate using the Helvetica Neue font.

I've copy and pasted my results, and this might or might not be what you're looking for.

Using the example from the page listed below, I came up with the following.

http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/urw/nimbus-sans-no-4/medium-condensed/win-ttf/9039/?rendersettings=1&antialiasing=1&PREFS_SET%5BRenderString%5D=TURBO+SHOOT+BLOCK+PASS+STEAL (http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/urw/nimbus-sans-no-4/medium-condensed/win-ttf/9039/?rendersettings=1&antialiasing=1&PREFS_SET%5BRenderString%5D=TURBO+SHOOT+BLOCK+PASS+STEAL)

Zorg, I have this font if you'd like it. I can email or PM , I believe, the 7z file.  Just look at the settings I used in PS, and they most certainly apply to AI as well.

Let me know.

Gabe

PS- My version is the one listed in Blue, which I placed over the Nimbus example that I copied from the MyFonts webpage.

hey thank's for the proposal, but instead of sending me the font file juts send me the path used.
type the text, using the magic wand tool, select every letter, and convert it to path, finaly export hte path and send me the resulting file.

thank's

Zorg,

I hope I did this right. I created the file using AI10.3 , and just saved the end result for you to work with. I originally tried the convert to path option, but I wasn't really happy with the outcome. If you encounter any problems with this .ai file , let me know immediately. I'll do my best to make it right.

Gabe

Oh, and don't forget to rename this to .ai

I'm sorry zorg.  :(

I tried every option I could with doing the path conversion. Then,I figured if I were to embed the font, you'd have an easier time working with the file. Again, sorry  :-[

Maybe next time.  .

BTW, I have the Adobe Font Folio if there are any Adobe fonts you may need. I think I have version 9.0, but I need to check the office to make sure.
