Title: Hide mouse cursor during game
Post by: jck_strw on June 29, 2006, 08:29:30 pm
I'm using GameEx as the frontend to the latest rev of Mame.  I had to add the -mouse option to the Mame command line to get my trackball to work, but now when I use the trackball, the mouse cursor/pointer is showing up on screen during a game.  Is there an option or something to get rid of this?  I don't remember having this issue before, so I'm not sure what I need to do to disable it.

Thanks!

i am also running gameex and have no issues with the pointer showing nor did I have to add the -mouse command.  how do you have the trackball connected?  I am using an optiwiz ps/2 from groovygamegear.

I'm using a Happs trackball, connected via USB.  I don't remember having to add the -mouse option before either.  This time though, when I started Crystal Castles, choose Analog controls and tried to set the X and Y axis, the trackball didn't respond.  I added -mouse and the trackball responded.

I thought maybe there was a mousecursor option I wasn't aware of that I could enable/disable.

Let me go back and check things.

I assume your using windows.  If you go to your windows control panel, then to mouse, theres an option to hide mouse pointer while typing.  I'm guessing setting that option would fix your problem.

Thanks for the help.  I fixed it.

I had specified the wrong version of Mame.  I was using Mame32.exe with the -mouse option set.  I changed it to regular Mame.exe (but I still had to set the -mouse option for it to recognize my trackball) and the trackball works and the mouse pointer is gone.  I guess that's expected behaviour?

Whatever, it works!  Thanks again for the help.
