HI, I installed a brand new VISION PRO 1949-1329-VP2" shelf mount monitor from happ controls (49-1329-VP2) . All was fine for about 20 minutes, then I noticed a smell in the air. Suddenly, I lost my picture. I looked in the back and what i found was a black ground wire lodged up against what looks to be a heat sync or something. This had melted the plastic wire coating and made contact. After removing the wire from it's resting place, I tried to fire up the monitor, it briefly fires up and then immediately shuts down. Because I had to remove the monitor from it's original frame, the warranty is no longer in effect. How do I fix this problem or is this entire chassis now toast? UHG,, thanks for your input. I'VE INCLUDED A PIC OF WHERE THE PROBLEM IS.

It's possible that you may have fried the component attached to that heat sink. You may have cooked the horizontal output transistor and/or the B+ power supply regulator transistor.

Hi Ken,, thanks, is this repairable or do I have to spend 92.00 from Happ for a new
chassis ?
