Title: Which One Should I start on Next? Update with Pics
Post by: Zeitgeist on June 28, 2006, 11:39:24 am
Hmm...
Trying to decide which project to start on next.
I have a fully functioning VS that needs to be put back together, or I can start on a MAME conversion, or I can rewire the Blitz & bring it back to life, or...
Anyway I haven't posted in quite a while & thought it was about time to show eveyone what I've been up to.

Do the hardest one first.

Or!

Do the easiest one first.

But for gods sake - start on something! Do yourself a favor and do just 1 at a time. It's rough doing multiple cabinets at a shot. You need those small victorys to keep you motivated.

You could send me one and I'll work on it for you. Of course, at the end of the project, I'll get to keep it and send you photos.  ;D

If you don't have a mame machine already, I'd say do that. Otherwise I'm throwing my vote to the Blitz machine. Get that thing ready before football season (only ~80 more days).

Yeah, tell me about it - it's hard to keep focused.
Of the three that are now in my living room, the Phoenix was the 1st to be completed.
I picked it up only about 4 months ago & it took me a couple of sundays & weeknights to get it done but I spent every free moment on it.
Partially because it was in my way & I couldn't get my motorcycle out without a huge but pain but also because it was new to me & I wanted to see it in action.
The other two in there I have owned for about 4 or more years & have had them in various levels of repair & disrepair.
Being married & always busy with honey-do's, I never did have the time or motivation to complete them.
I finally did after the competion of the Phoenix (which if you look at the pic still needs t molding, I do have the CPO though).
Now I have a garage full of these things & lots of ideas.
Some will be MAME'd, some will be restored, some will be converted to JAMMA.
I think the VS should be the next one to come together though since I have had it for about three years.
I am inclined however to get a Mame machine together quick-like to place in the living room for the big party this weekend.
May do that tonight.
But I will take your advice & stick to one at a time.
Anyway, now I'm off to Alabama to pick up another huge dedicated Midway machine.
Thanks for the words of encouragement.

Here's the new addition to the family.
Just checked it out for function.
Everything sounds like it works 100% but the monitor lacks the chassis so no pic.
Just so happens I have one sitting in the Blitz cab to test it with.
Never got 'round to the quickie MAME cab.
Still time...

I'd convert that smaller verticle monitor cab to mame if I had that many options.  As always, take lots of pictures.

Where do you get these things & what do they go for?
