Title: Need help: Hantarex Polo horizontal display decreases
Post by: phulshof on June 26, 2006, 03:58:19 am
Hello all,

After a rather active weekend of arcading, it looks like my Hantarex Polo monitor is having some trouble. During the last hours of playing, the screen flickered a bit from time to time, and the horizontal display slowly decreased (the screen got narrower) while the vertical display increased (got taller), even to the point of 30-40 lines dropping outside the viewable area of the screen both at the top and the bottom. I've of course adjusted with the aspect ratio turn button, but even at maximum I still have 10-15 lines not showing up on the screen, and I don't know if this process will continue. Any idea what might be causing this? It seems as if the aspect ratio controller is deteriorating.

it could be quite a few things, dry solder joints, leaky capacitors, failing h.o.t or a failing flyback transformer, hopefully it will just be a couple of dry joints.hantarex are very prone to all the mentioned problems, its just a case of starting with the least expensive and hope that will cure it

Since it's a Hantarex, I'd say give it a capkit first.
