Hey guys... sorry but I'm a total noob. Ok here goes...
I have mamewah and can't seem to make it work....
I edited the .ini file and put the path to my roms and the path to my emulator. I am using the windows command line version... (which I cant make run on its own either.....) I had been using Mame32 before.
I run mamewah but when I try to get it to generate a list.. nothing happens... still says no games available...
Help?

If you can't make it work from the command line then using a FE (MameWah in this case) you don't have much chance. A fe is just a graphical interface that sends command line to mame.
Does your romset match the version of mame you are using? EG what version of mame32 works with them.?
If that isn't it the only other thing I can think of is the path for the roms in mame.ini is not correct.

well.. the MAME32 I have is 0.84.. and it runs most of them. I don't really know much about this stuff at all... just trying to get into it. I downloaded mamewin... but I can't get it to work.. a dos screen flashes briefly when I try to run it...

Ok wll I assume you downloaded the latest Windows command line version which may not run with the roms you hold
Download the following.
http://www.mame.net/zips/mame084b.zip
You will have to type/copy it in your browser (as they don't allow links). You will discover that yourself if you try and click on it ;)
Try that version..
In any case try running it from a 'command prompt window' rather than the 'run window' then the window should not disappear and you will see the error.
Hang in there :)
