Title: FS [MD] Vintage TI-99 4A Video Game Computer
Post by: XtraSmiley on June 22, 2006, 08:44:16 pm
I have one of these in the original box with a few games and some type of add on (speech I think).  It's a heavy package so I'd rather not mail, but I can for around $25.  Anyone want this?  If there is serious interest, I'll dig it out of storage.

I'm always interested in trades as well such as AVGA cards.  Of course, I would kick in money if you have something worth more.

Wow all those veiws and no offers?  I'm not looking for a lot for this, I know they don't go for much, but really to give it a good home.  Anyone collect vintage stuff?

I've got one of those huge Peripheral Expansion Boxes too. Heavy mother given that the big perk was an RS-232 interface and a disc drive. Kept my 1981 TI-99/4A mostly for Munchman and Parsec but haven't hooked it up in years.

Those were the days... when software was sold in ziplock bags.  ;)

Eh, I have about 10 Ti99s here... they're everywhere.  I can't go to a yard sale without someone sneaking one into my car through the crack I leave in the window so heat can escape.

LOL...ah yes, the ziploc bags!
Munchman and Parsec are great!!!   I got TI on emulation, i still play around with it now and then. I always thought it was a MUCH better game than all the other pacman ripoffs that the other home systems had.
WE paid $800 for that system when it first came out...a few years later we were getting stacks of them for free....still got'em too.

Yup. Munchman, at the time anyway, was definitely the best one.

Yeah, we can't be helping. But then again, now everyone wants to try Munchman, eh?  :)

Do what my bro and I used to do with old, still functioning, electronics.

Get a 4-pound hammer and a driveway and SMASH that sucker.  Let the neighbors see and make sure they think it's something valuable.  Be sure and say, "yep, it still worked" as you throw it into the ground over and over.

Careful on that steel p-box, though, you could hurt yourself!  :D

Take pictures, post here.  Emulation dudes don't want original hardware!

Arggh, I see it's not worth much on here, but still, I'd rather give it to someone for free than smash it up!

They go for suprisingly cheap on eBay.

Personally, I don't see the point of destroying it.

OMG -- those were so COOL!  I wrote my first TI_BASIC program when I was 10, and Extended basic was like a DREAM!  Munchman, Parsec, and what the hell was the name of that "RPG" adventure game on tape?  Oh, and I used to have the Milton Bradley baseball game with the speach recognition kit -- man was that a beauty.  Also had poker, Hunt the Wumpus, the list goes on.

Sold it all for a Commodore 64. (My Pop was pissed and wanted me to get an IBM PCjr  :))

If I bought that my wife would be pissed.  It'd probably wind up sitting next to the ADAM (full system) & Amiga 500 we have sitting downstairs collecting dust........

I had a few of them. The one that sticks out in my mind (mostly because it was one of the few I finished) was Pirate's Adventure. They were the Scott Adams games if I remember correctly.
