Title: Flying Marsh Rats.
Post by: Shape D. on June 20, 2006, 10:57:59 pm
Anyone know how to scare off flying marsh rats? AKA (http://images.google.com/images?q=tbn:VbphC6kdyJdWOM:http://www.shutterfreaks.com/albums2/album145/RWBBWeb_copy.jpg)
Red Wing Blackbirds. I have one of these  :censored: Birds that moved into the marsh 10' away from the  :censored: sidewalk that leads from my apt to my car. Anytime you walk down it the little  :censored:  :censored: Dive bombs you. I'm guessing it has eggs in there.

I want to get rid of it, but I would prefer to scare it off rather than kill it. Although it looks like it might make a decent snack.

Yep, you are correct.  How long have you had this problem?  It sounds like (from a quick read) once the hatching is done (about 11 days) and once the babies leave the nest (about 10 days) your problem should be solved.

If you don't have the patience another option could be to get a really big stuffed animal.  The bird will either be scared of it or will dive right into it.

I guess these things are more intelligent than I would have thought. I am now able to walk by it and it will stay in its nest, my wife and children also have no problem. People who don't commonly walk by there though get divebombed.

My mother in law visited yesterday...... :laugh2:

The 4th of July is a week away.
