Title: Rockola 440 Oppurtunity
Post by: USSEnterprise on June 20, 2006, 03:51:58 pm
I have a chance to get a Rockola 440 really cheap. Only problem is the record arm is stuck in one position. The amplifier and coin mechs work. Does this sound like an easy fix?

Might be a mechanical problem due to dried out grease or someone trying to "fix" the machine who shouldn't have tried in the first place.

Could be a bad motor (usually the motor windings short to frame ground) which are expensive to replace.

Could be dirty relay contacts.

Could be blown fuse/ circuit breaker.

Could be dirty slip rings.

Could be bad power supply.

Could be any of a million things.

I asked him as to how the arm broke. Says he was adding records with the thing on, and his shirt got caught up in the arm mechanism. What a genius
