Title: PSX/2 to Jamma adapter
Post by: Hellfromabove on June 19, 2006, 05:19:53 am
I'm talking about the same thing that they have in candy cabs and in the Tekken 5 machines. The port that lets you plug your playstation controller into the machine. I remember seeing this on Happs like 2 years ago for sale but didn't bother. I want it for my upcomming project. Does anyone know where I could get ahold of them? I can't seem to find them on Happs site. Thanx.

I spent some time looking, but I couldn't find anything aboot it. If you're enterprising enough, you could use something like this http://www.gamesx.com/controldata/psxcont/psxcont.htm (http://www.gamesx.com/controldata/psxcont/psxcont.htm) to decode the button presses and hook it up to jamma, though, that's probably more work than it's worth.

I've got most of the code written to do this all on an 8051 microcontroller (it also speaks MIDI, for unrelated reasons), but in reverse.  I should be able to whip up the other direction for you if you like and can't find something else.
