Title: Ultimarc's PSX adapter issue
Post by: kaizor on June 19, 2006, 01:56:46 am
Hello,

I'm having issues with the adapter.  It seems when I have a keyboard through the pass connector it pauses on every buttom press.  It gives me an error saying that the controllers are not connected.

When I remove the keyboard from the passthrough slot, everything works for the most part, exec pt when certain buttons are pressed simultaneously giving me the same error (about 6+ buttons seems to duplicated the error).  I tried just plugging in a keyboard to the adapter without the IPAC and everything works perfect, with almost all keys pressed.  I'm really at a lost to how to fix this.

Other info:
IPAC4 board.  All keys are defaulted except Players 3 and 4 , switches 5-8 which I had to assign a key to because the defaults are blank.
The ps2 game I was testing was "Marvel vs Capcom 2" which is a capcom fighting game.

Any help on this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Does it do this with other games?

I think some of the Capcom games just do not like the ultimarc adapter. Third Strike freaks out with it too.

Yep almost all capcom games.  I haven't tested it with Tekken 5 or Guilty GearXX Reload yet as I don't have the copy.  But all other non-fighting games seems just fine.

Contacted Andy, he's sending me two chips at that add on to the adapter that should fix it.  I'll report back once I get a hold of these and run some tests.
