I need to sandwich a few pieces of 1/8" Lexan together to make a 1" thick piece.
Can anyone recommend a glue that will leave the Lexan transparent?
Can I mix plexi in between the Lexan pieces to save money?

I'm really curious as to the reason you want a 1" thick peice. Whats the total overall dimensions your looking to get?

I'm pretty sure he wants to reenact a scene from Karate Kid Part 2!

I'm trying to perfect my volcano button lens casts (http://www.rototron.info/?Page=RGBVolcano.aspx) by building a vacuum chamber. The Lexan is for the chamber's view port which must withstand a vacuum of 30 inches Hg (762 Torr). One inch thickness might be overkill, I probably could go 1/2", but I haven't found a good method to calculate the minimum thickness to avoid a catastrophic implosion.

I've also been looking for a good acrylic glue. Tap plastics has some good stuff available. They say they dry "optically clear," so it might be what you're looking for. (Although, for my cab, I'm not really looking for clear, just really strong.)

For acrylic, make some acrylic cement out of leftover plexi and acetone.

Have no idea if it works with Lexan, though.

Methylene Chloride is good stuff (I think that's the name). Looks like water. Dries clear.
I should also mention, it's also very bad for you.

I have glued acrylic before, as long as the glue is applied evenly, it will look fine.
What I had tried before was just glueing in dots at corners of large pieces, you could see the glue at the perimeter edges of the glue dots. On smaller pieces I applied glue on the entire piece and could not "see" the glue. It may be difficult to get a completely clear piece laminated together if it is a large window.
