Hey All.
Is it possible to change the default Mame button allocation? I would like to have a separate button for player credits and for starting a game/changing lists. As it is setup now people press the wrong buttons as they cant remember whats for what as some buttons (1 and 2) have 2 functions.
Can I just do it with the mame config file.
eg make '1' the button for start game and another unallocated key for player 1 start.
Thanks

Shouldn't be a problem at all. Which version of MAME / Frontend are you using?

Mame does remapping of keys used in-game while in-game (tab) or with a ctrlr file. The MameFAQ (http://www.mame.net/mamefaq.html#h03)has a good description of in-game remapping I'm too lazy to repeat ATM. ;)
But it also sounds like you are talking about possiblely remapping keys used outside of games. Like Crowquill said, that depends on which frontend you're using.

Thanks guys.
It is outside of games that I want to change. I am using Mamewah as a front end.

Then you can adjust the mamewah.ini file
