Today I will be a proud owner of a Skeeball machine. I saw a listing for this on CL this morning and I will be picking it up this afternoon. It is complete with 10 balls. He said it only needs some minor assembly. I still haven't figured out how I am goig to get this into my basement. My wife is going to kill me when she find outs. I figure its easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission when it comes to arcade stuff.
Here's an image of it.

That truly rocks! How much does one of those go for?

I got this one for $100.
The local Chuckie Cheese sold a bunch of their old ones last year for $50 each, but they were pretty beat up. THis one is in good shape, but in pieces. It might need a $30 part, but we'll see once I get it home and start cleaning it up.

Neat.... good find!

That's sweet! I could never fit one of those in my basement.

Agreed on handling the wife. And I want one of those...

I would love one of those things. I wish I had the room.

OK it's home now, but the ramp is sitting outside my house. Apparently I have "Forced Entry Resistant Windows" so I have to take the whole window frame out to get the machine in my basement. luckily my basement isn't anywhere near finished so it won't be too bad.
It wasn't as nearly as heavy as I thought it was going to be skeeball.com says their 400 lbs, but it's more like 150 lbs for the ramp and maybe 100 lbs for the back. Not too bad. It needs a good cleaning and some paint, but otherwise in excellent shape.
I'll post pics once it is set up and running in my basement.

No more of this site for you, then:

I had to resolder a few points on the PCB and change a fuse, replace a bulb or two, but after that it works. The ticket dispenser doesn't seem to work and I'm not sure if it is getting the correct voltage.
Once that is done I am going to repaint and restore the cab. I cleaned the alle with a Magic Eraser and it looks as good as new.
I forgot how fun it was to play. I picked up 3 pachinko machine the night after and they aren't getting any play at all compared to the Skeeball.

How? I swear I tried for an hour just to get one in the 100 pointer and I just can't do it. That may be the most frustrating thing I have ever touched. Next to a rubiks cube. And my highschool girlfriend. Scratch that... never touched her... hince the frustration.

that is awesome!!!
but...you might want to be careful with that as it looks like a ball could ramp right down the stairs and that would hurt!! lol

I found several ways to score 100 pointers. The final method I won with is shown below. Roll fairly briskly. The ball will bouce off the wall and will come close everytime. You will either get 100 or 10. Too fast, and you get your ball back.
