Title: Cool looking USB-controlled lcd display..
Post by: jfunk on June 15, 2006, 11:03:53 am
Anyone seen these?

Pertelian External LCD Display

Controlled via USB.  Apparently has a budding homebrew community.  Looks like it would be a pretty cool (and possibly easy) to have dynamic instructions and such..  Not the biggest screen, but I can see potential..

Anyone have one for a review or anything?

Thanx!

meh.  it's cool but I just bought one of these:
http://www.everythingusb.com/logitech_g15_gaming_keyboard.html

which basically already has the lcd in the not as ugly as the green display color.  pretty much same functionality although this wouldnt be useful for arcade cabs really.

the price for the keyboard is about $60 on amazon where that lcd is $45.  seems a bit pricey.

Ah, see..  Green matches my color scheme  :)

And I'm all about small form factor and convenience  :)

I had always planned on putting an old Palm Pilot to use like that but never got off the mark. I have a few Palm Vs kicking around and there is homebrew code out there. Not sure where or how I'd mount it.
